The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has ranked Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine as #21 among all medical schools in the United States. This ranking, based on awards received directly from the NIH, represents an all-time high for Northwestern’s medical school and is up from #24 in 2011.
In addition to rankings based on overall funding, the NIH ranks individual departments within medical schools. This year, 8 of Feinberg’s departments ranked in the top 10 of their research areas, and 11 departments ranked in the top 20.
